This post will be a description of the version of myself who finishes Navy boot camp. I will be describing him as if I am meeting him for the first time.

What this version of myself is like

Physically he will be lean and in shape. He will be comfortable pushing his body past its comfort level. He will be able to complete over 50 push ups in one sitting, be able to plank for over 3 minutes, and complete a mile and half run in under 14 minutes, which is less than a 9 minute mile pace.

Mentally he will be disciplined. He wont be afraid to spring to action when asked to complete any task, whether he is ready to do so or not. He will also be able to keep his mind clear in stressful situations and not react emotionally in these types of situations, or situations where others would believe he is being inconvenienced.

Emotionally he will be more mature than the person I am today. He will take pride and go out of his way to help other people who are struggling instead of becoming annoyed with them. He will not be someone to put someone down who could become better with help. He will not react to others negativity. He would never join in to support others’ negativity, especially when that negativity is targeted towards superiors or those that need help. This person will be calm and mature.

Spiritually this man will not rely on himself. He will rely on Jesus Christ for support, especially when he is being pushed to his limits. The reason he will be able to be emotionally mature and calm is because he know that his relationship with Jesus can help him conquer anything. He will have less material desires than I do. No need to buy more and more objects and media in order to feel fulfilled. He knows that Jesus will only put him through something that he can handle while relying on Jesus for support.

Habits

The following is a list of habits that this person will have that I currently do not possess.

  1. Is out of bed every morning before 07:00 without hesitation.
  2. Sorts and clean sleeping area before doing anything.
  3. Prays every day after cleaning sleeping area.
  4. Exercises daily and keeps in good shape.
  5. Does not slouch and has proper posture.

Conclusion

I am excited to go through changes during boot camp. I will strive to push myself in order to become gain these improvements. I am looking forward to getting in better shape, learning to become a better leader by helping others, becoming more self-aware, learning to look to Jesus for answers, and help from my fellow recruits. One thing I can do today in order to start becoming this person is to go out for a 1.5 mile run and complete it in under 14 minutes and 45 seconds which is a 9 minute and 50 seconds mile.
